Vacation | Santorini, Greece

Welcome to the last day of vacation week.

What can I say about Santorini other than it is a magical place and absolutely breathtaking! This was our vacation during our vacation. We spent 5 days in Santorini and most of our time was spent by the pool or swimming the the Aegean Sea. Every night we ate dinner and watched the sunset from our balcony. On my last Greece visit I had the chance of briefly visiting a couple islands on a day cruise and I knew I must come back and really experience a Greek island.

We stayed in Oia. Oia is known for their spectacular sunsets and is also a HUGE tourist destination. Folks spend hours waiting for the sunset.

They do offer donkey rides for your journey back up the stairs but I was too scared. Plus I felt bad for the donkeys. Poor guys! This is a picture from our balcony. There are the stairs again. LOVE that drink!The dogs run free in Oia, well pretty much every where in Greece. Here is one on a roof of a building.This is my second favorite picture for our vacation. Look at all the people waiting for the sunset.From our pool we had the perfect view of the stairs down to the water. We noticed there was a small dog that would follow a man in a red hat that was hurding the donkeys up and down the stairs. This dog followed this man ALL DAY up and down the stairs! It was really impressive! I have no idea why the dog did it or how he/she could make that journey so many times a day. Let me tell you those stairs are a beast! Between each step there is an incline so it might look easy but it’s a workout and a test of your endurance. It takes 10-15 minutes for an average person to climb these stairs with a couple breaks on the way up.You can see the dog in this picture if you look closely. The dog is the tan speck behingd the last donkey carring the man in the red hat.Here you can see the dog and the man in the red hat. The dog is in the left corner of the picture. That dog has true loyalty and drive or maybe it liked the donkeys or thought that it is a donkey…. who knows…

This picture makes my mouth water. This is by far the BEST cake on the planet! I bought two slices during our stay in Oia and I wish I had some right now. It was magical!The picture on the right is the bakery that is the home of the best cake on the planet. If you ever travel to Oia you MUST try that cake. So amazing! I get very passionate about food. Can you tell?Our journey back home.
